Technical Notes: Blow Drying Hair

·      Carry out hair wash procedure up to the drying stage.

·      Comb through hair whilst still wet.

·      Roughly dry so hair isn’t dripping but is still damp.

·      The hairdryer must have a nozzle attachment on it.

·     Find the persons natural parting by coming front of hair back and pushing the hair forward and the hair will fall into the natural parting.  

·      Put necessary products in hair such as heat defense spray.

·      Section hair behind ear and clip.

·      Section hair at back, start the blow-dry on the underneath section of hair and work upwards.

·      Turn hairdryer on and check heat.

·      Use a barrel brush and put it under the hair root and blow-dry in an upward angle to create lift, and move hairdryer around so models head doesn’t get too hot.

·      Turn brush whilst drying.

·      When hair is dry, put hairdryer facing end of hair.

·      Dry the roots of hair first, then the mid section of the hair, then the ends of the hair last.

·      Do the back of the hair before the sections in front of the ears.
