Technical Notes: Buns

·      Can either use all of hair or put hair half up and use half the hair.

·      If using all of the hair, tie hair into a ponytail where you require the bun to sit.

·      Take a quarter of the hair in the ponytail and if the model has finer hair backcomb the underside to make it sturdy.

·    Make a barrel shape with the hair around your fingers to curl the hair section and pin either side into place on the head with Kirby grips.

·      Make sure you can see through the barrel shape of hair.

·      Repeat with the other three sections of hair.

·      When this stage is complete, you will have a sort of clover square shape where the sections do not meet.

·      Use a pin to push the sections together and use a wide pin (a finishing pin) to pin the sections together at the base of the bun.
